How To Prevent Wannacry Ransomware Attack – The spread of ransomware WannaCry raising fears big. Why not, these malicious programs can go quietly to the computer without being noticed, then encrypts the data so that the computer is locked and could not be used. WannaCry not indiscriminate in attacking the victim.
An incident occurred in the United Kingdom, where at least 16 hospitals are victims of WannaCry. In just less than two days, the ransomware had already spread to 99 countries and infects tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of computer system.
Compared to other ransomware, WannaCry more sophisticated and dangerous. Ransomware doesn’t need user intervention to be able to infect your computer. Necessity to spread is just a connection to the network.
What is the secret? WannaCry exploits cyber weapon tool owned by the US intelligence service, the NSA, which in April was stolen and leaked by a group of hackers named Shadow Broker. A tool named “EnternalBlue” that exploit security gaps in the Windows operating system through the execution of SMBv1 remote code.
Once successfully logged into a single computer in an Office environment that is connected in LAN network, the worm in the WannaCry will automatically find another computer in the network that are vulnerable to infection.
As a result the fatal: computers under attack will be locked. The data is encrypted so that it cannot be accessed. Malware simply displays a message on the computer screen which asks for a ransom of $300 in the form of virtual currency Bitcoin transactions that could not be traced.
If a ransom was paid to their digital wallet, there is no guarantee that the makers of ransomware really will send the encryption key to unlock the data on the victim’s computer.
